New York wasn’t specifically a research visit, but as always there are a multitude of experiences and observations you can draw from. The streets and shops are thick with intent, experiments and examples of the complexity of retail in all its guises. Recent years have seen some fairly significant changes. The emergence and rapid democratization of the smartphone and other technologies, the economic downturn and so on. There are a few over arching themes that are extremely visible.
